PreBS 15 Brown Western

The first build in the new Tucson shop is a PreBS 15 to match the owners other two Sweet amps! Brown western tolex with Marshall cane grill cloth, Mercury Magnetics transformers, 10″ Jensen Falcon speaker, push-pull mid boost, and user adjustable bias test points and trim pot on the rear panel. This is one of only two PreBS 15 that I built with a 10 and it turned out killer! I may have to build another just like it for stock!

PreBS 15+ Carolina Blue

A custom order PreBS 15+ with Carolina blue tolex and cane grillcloth. As always with the + models you can swap 6V6 for 6L6 power tubes for more power and headroom with the upgraded Mercury Magnetics trannies. I definitely prefer 6L6s, especially in a band situation and the GA-SC64 Eminence speaker is the icing on the cake! Simultaneously warm and clear with a distinctive vintage character at low to moderate volumes and glorious with rich harmonics and growl when pushed hard! The push-pull mid boost takes it into early Marshall territory with singing ringing feedback when cranked. Think early Angus Young and how he would let the note ring until it just started to feedback on a single note instead of noodling and shredding a million more notes. From country to R&B, blues, surf, and classic rock, it’s in there. A Sweet tone machine!

PreBS 15 Surf Green

A new PreBS 15 in surf green with a turquoise stripe in the grill cloth! Standard power transformer with a deluxe reverb output transformer and choke filtering for just a bit more headroom than a traditional Princeton Reverb. A pair of 6V6s gives 18W output through a Mojotone BV series 12″ speaker and the push-pull bright, mid-boost, and negative feedback control gives plenty of usable tone shaping options. Vintage tone that stays tight when pushed!

This one is a traditional looking build with 12″ Eminence GA-SC64 speaker, Mercury Magnetics transformers, and user adjustable bias control and test points on the rear panel. This $50 upgrade will pay for itself the first time you replace your own power tubes and won’t have to pay a tech to re-bias your amp!

It also features the new user accessible bias pot and test points on the rear panel. This new taller cab size will now be available for all PreBS 15 and 15+ models for a $100 upcharge. It will accomodate a 10, 12, 15, 2×10, or 3×8 speaker configuaration offering yet another way to perfectly dial in your tone and volume for the gig, genre, or recording session. PreBS 15+ Dark Red Cherry

Another Sweet collaboration with my dad who made the gorgeous red stained cherry cab. It’s got all the usual, Mercury trannies, push-pull bright and mid boost, negative feedback control, and like all + models, can use any 6V6 or 6L6 type power tubes to dial in the tone and power(18W-32W) needed for your gig or recording situation. All PreBS series amps now feature user adjustable bias on the rear panel to make swapping tubes easy and less expensive. Do it yourself and save $50 or more every time you change tubes!

PreBS 15+15

Been wanting to try this for some time now. A PreBS 15+ with 15″ speaker. Turned out better than I imagined! The oversized Mercury Magnetics transformers combined with the larger cabinet and 15″ speaker is a perfect combination! More volume, more headroom, and more harmonic overtones when pushed, especially with the feedback knob cranked. It’s just hard to imagine a senario where this amp wouldn’t excell. Use 6V6(18W) or 6L6(36W) power tubes to dial it in for your particular volume and tone preferences. Right at home with blues, country, surf, jazz, rock, and ? Portable powerful perfect tone!

PreBS 15 Black w/Silver Racing Stripe

Another PreBS 15 is completed. This time it’s wearing black with a silver stripe. It features a 12″ Mojotone BV-25M speaker, Mercury Magnetics output transformer, and push-pull mid boost. Of course, it has the usual bells and whistles as well; all tube point to point wiring, choke filtering, full sized reverb tank, pull- bright on the treble pot, and a negative feedback pot on the rear panel to dial in the right amount of break up and harmonic content. 18W output from a pair of Tung-Sol 6V6s make this the perfect bedroom, rehersal, studio, and giging combo!
